FAQS

Q. We are unsure if therapeutic riding is right for us.
A. If you have any questions or concerns regarding whether or not therapeutic riding is right for you, please contact Victoria McIlrath, Executive Program Director (603-357-7282) directly to discuss your concerns.

Q. Is there a weight limit?
A. We have imposed a weight limit of 190 lbs or less due to the stress an unbalanced rider places on a horse’s back. We apologize for any exclusion this places on interested riders but it is for the safety of the riders, volunteers and the well-being of our horses.

Q. What if there is a day in the session we know we are unable to attend?
A. Make-ups will be permitted if MIM has to cancel a class, however, there will be no make-ups for missed classes.

Q. What is your make up and class cancellation policy?
A. Make-ups will only be permitted if Miracles in Motion cancels a class.

Q. What is your refund policy if we discontinue the session after attending 1,2 or 3+ classes?
A. A refund will be granted under the following conditions: I’ll use the following example: You pre- paid $300 for an 8 week session and decided to discontinue after the first class, you will be refunded back for the remaining 7 sessions. Discontinuing after the 2nd class will qualify you for a refund of 50% of the $300. Discontinuing the session after the 3rd class will qualify you for a refund of 25% of the $300.

Q. Where do I call to check on the status of my class due to inclement weather?
A. You may call the barn office at 603-357-7282. Please leave a message in the event we are out in the barn working with the horses. Someone will return your call.

Q. What are the benefits of a semi-private class?
A. Most children enjoy being in the presence of other children. They feel like a part of the group, a team setting can be established, modeling and influence can be used as a part of the class lesson plan and socialization can be fostered among the riders. It is also beneficial for a rider to watch another rider demonstrate a skill they are newly learning.

Q. I would like to discuss goals with the instructor prior to starting class.
A. This is something we welcome. Please contact the Executive Program Director to discuss current IEP goals, at home goals and other short and long term goals you have for the rider. Often times we can incorporate these goals into our lesson plans but it is important to note that instructors will modify the goals if necessary to fit into a therapeutic horseback riding plan.
